The Puppet or “The Volunteer” as it’s known in Romania was a unique challenge. Like a real puppet, the 4m sculpture has jointed arms and legs giving mobility to the massive sculpture. He represents the men of the area who volunteered to fight in the First World War. It also pays homage to the ancient tradition of puppetry in Romania.
